The 2022 proxy season has already broken the record for the number of shareholder proposals submissions, as ESG topics progress and institutional investor voting behavior evolves.
Already 924 shareholder proposals have been submitted, significantly surpassing the record-breaking 2021 season. To date at the time of this writing, 286 ESG proposals have been voted, and as many as 621 proposals may go to a vote by the end of season.
On the heels of a groundbreaking 2021 proxy season, many proponents appeared emboldened to submit ESG proposals seeking more significant demands in 2022.
