David Farkas is the Head of Georgeson Shareholder Intelligence, a practice delivering timely and accurate shareholder ownership insights for investor relations professionals, the C-suite, and boards of directors.
David has extensive experience advising clients on investor matters, helping companies bolster their investor outreach plans, while strengthening defenses against shareholder activism and hostile M&A scenarios. With over 20 years of experience, David has worked with hundreds of companies in varying industries, providing tailored expertise as a trusted advisor.
Prior to joining Georgeson, David was a Managing Director in the Activism and M&A Solutions group at FTI Consulting. He was the practice lead for FTI Consulting’s Shareholder Insights & Intelligence offering that focused on stock surveillance, activism vulnerabilities, and investor targeting. David was also previously a Director in the Global Markets Intelligence group at Ipreo (subsequently acquired by IHS Markit, then S&P Global). In this role, he advised C-suite and investor relations professionals on corporate strategies and shareholder insights, and oversaw Ipreo’s Shareholder Activist Intelligence efforts, delivering daily insights into potentially hostile shareholder activist accumulations.
David is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI).
